Breadmaking Classes – Half Day

Spend half a day baking and learn a whole new range of techniques. Armed with a wealth of techniques and recipes at the end of the half day, you’ll be ready to create great bread at home consistently.

Courses run for approximately 4 hours. All you need to bring are boxes or bags to take home your bread in.

Learn to Bake Bread

This course is suitable for both complete beginners and those with some knowledge. Using recipes and techniques I learned in France, you’ll learn to mix, prove, shape and bake your dough.

  • Learn how to scale your recipes up and down
  • Adapt your recipes depending on the temperature in the room
  • How to weigh and shape your dough
  • How to add flavours

  • Meet for a light lunch and chat over what we’ll be making
  • Learn how to knead, shape and bake a variety of breads
  • Refreshments whilst your bread is baking
  • Display of the breads you’ve made

Learn to Make Sweet Dough

This course is suitable for both complete beginners and those with some knowledge. Using recipes and techniques I learned in France, you’ll learn to mix, prove, shape and bake your dough. A stand mixer is used to mix the dough rather than by hand.

  • Learn how to mix rich doughs successfully
  • How to make both sweet and savoury breads and buns with the same dough.
  • How to use your refrigerator to retard dough
  • How a very large plastic bag will be your friend

Terms and Conditions

Payment in full is required for any course. Refunds up to 7 days in advance of course date only.. You can transfer to another date, or transfer your place to another person. Should you prefer not to use PayPal, you can pay by bank transfer.

The course is not suitable for those choosing to avoid gluten. The bread course is suitable for vegans (we use fresh yeast). The viennoise dough course is suitable for vegetarians.

You will be spending most of the time standing up, so please bear this in mind when booking.
